A Vessel Information System that facilitates administration, streamlines inspections, and boosts sales
Increased convenience led to expanded business opportunities when TTS Marine asked us to make, then enhance, their Vessel Information System.
Challenge
Prior to being acquired by MacGregor in 2018, TTS Marine was an international company group providing services and equipment for the marine and offshore industries. Our first assignment for TTS Marine was the development of the TTS Vessel Information System (TTS VIS). This system enabled easy administration and oversight of the company’s services and equipment: deliveries to customers, what services had been performed, what spare parts had been sold, etcetera.
This work resulted in an additional order from TTS Marine: a system for efficiently handling equipment inspections and services onboard vessels. These inspections include a variety of documents, such as certificates and protocols; all of which need to be handled and stored in a secure yet convenient system. The add-on system had to make inspections as easy as possible for both TTS Marine and their customers.
Solution
Skapa created an add-on survey module that made administering inspections much easier than before. TTS Marine and their customers could easily plan for where, when and how inspections should be carried out. All necessary documents regarding these inspections and surveys were made available through the survey module, and updated right after each inspection.
Creating an add-on survey module to the existing TTS VIS had several advantages. The users were familiar with the system, which in turn made it easy for them to educate and include new users among their customers. All the information regarding the equipment, the inspection protocols, etc., were already in TTS VIS, connected to the respective vessels.
Result
Our survey module made it easier for TTS Marine to efficiently synchronize their inspections and equipment service. Certificates, instructions and protocols can be printed quickly. TTS VIS’ ability to streamline and survey activities better than before meant that TTS Marine were able to develop and expand their business operations even further. The company saw a significant increase in sales, and received highly positive customer feedback.
