Hecksher.com was built to convey the company’s historical heritage, combined with the services that make it a modern, popular logistics partner.
As Danish freight forwarder Hecksher changed their company name, they needed a new website that embodied tradition as well as modernity. A rich company history needed to be presented alongside the services and personnel that ensure the company’s success today. So, how did Skapa help Hecksher achieve this?

Challenge
As Hecksher changed its company name, they wanted to give their existing website a complete makeover as well. The Danish company was founded all the way back in 1797, and has been an international logistics partner and shipping provider ever since. Hecksher specializes in the handling and transportation of particularly demanding cargo, such as vehicles and heavy industrial components.
The main challenge of the new website was to merge history with the present and the future. Hecksher’s 200+ years of history sets the company apart from its competitors, and speaks to its longevity in a very competitive market. At the same time, the new website needed to be, and look, modern, and focus on the customer value of the company’s services and everyday operations.
Solution
Skapa met with the CEO and other members from the company’s management organization, taking in the different parameters that the new website should meet.
The new website, which we built with WordPress and Elementor, has a clearer layout and menu system, compared to its predecessor. It is also more visually coherent in terms of the color scheme and imagery used.
Hecksher’s rich history is clearly presented and elaborated on, but not in a dominant or distracting way. Instead, the main focus is on the company’s everyday work, and how that work benefits Hecksher’s customers around the world. Addressing customers’/visitors’ needs and perspectives is crucial to any company website, and must not be overshadowed by the company’s presentation of itself.
Result
The new Hecksher website shows the company’s strengths, and does so in a clear and friendly way. That includes everything from acknowledging the company’s roots and history to showing its staff in an everyday work setting. These are the people that Hecksher’s customers interact with, so showing glimpses of them and their work adds warmth and familiarity to the overall company presentation.
The structure of the new website reflects Hecksher’s business while also addressing their customers’ expectations (what services does Hecksher offer, what freight option to go with, why use Hecksher instead of its competitors, and so on). Content marketing articles and SEO help attract relevant user traffic from Google. The website is easy to use and navigate, showing the company’s operations, people and heritage in a clearer and more consistent way than before.
